Twilight Zone - Original Series

Postby James-Masaki_Ryan » 15 Dec 2016 01:35

The entries in our database is very out of date - The Blu-ray reissue by Paramount US came out but realized the UK Fremantle, US Image are not in the database, as well as many of the older DVDs.

I am in the process of updating the US "Definitive" DVD box entries, and adding the US Paramount / Image Blu-rays but need info on a lot of others - including the UK Fremantle, the older US DVDs, and other editions.

If you have any, or can provide links to reviews/blogs that have info that would be very helpful.
The biggest problem with many online reviews for multidisc TV sets is that they dont say which episodes are on which discs.

If anyone is going to have the UK releases, it'll be Mark or Rick IMO.
I work away a lot but I will reply to all PM's within a few days so please have patience!

I added all the UK Cinema Club sets a couple of years ago (I was surprised they were not already on here), and the three New Twilight Zone series as I own them all.

EXAMPLE:

Don't own any on Blu-ray though or have specs for later UK Fremantle releases.

FAO Christian;

What is the total runtime for DISC TWO?

- Marc Scott Zicree interview with Douglas Houghton (1978) (English Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono, no subtitles) (25:54) * -> Fehler bei Blu-ray A Eintrag? Douglas Heyes statt Houghton

The US DVD and Blu-ray state interview with "Douglas Heyes" on "The Chaser" episode. There is a Douglas Heyes and a Buck Houghton that worked on the series but there is no one by the name of "Douglas Houghton" that worked on Twilight Zone. Possibly the German release has a mistake?
Subtitles (optional): German, German (with defects / "Fehlstellen" in German)

So there is a standard German subtitle track, and a second track that is defective?

Runtime Disc 2:
For some reason, there is no complete runtime shown. It is also not possible to skip episodes if you choose "play all" or if you watch the episodes one by one, you can fast forward though (very annyoing, to say the least and I guess another production sloppyness by Koch Media). So the individial runtimes are (25:56) (25:57) (25:56) (25:56) (25:54) (25:55) = 150 min 334 sec so (155:34)

Fehlstellen:
No, does not mean defective, I translated that one wrong, it should rather read "missing parts": If for some reason there are some German dubbing parts of an episode missing, it automatically is subtitled in German. This is especially true for Rod Serlings intro/outroductions which are never dubbed.

To the German subtitles in general for the episodes: They are "dubtitles" rather than genuine subtitles. So the German subtitles are based on the dubbed German versions. If you choose English audio with German subtitles, you will notice it (in some episodes more than in others).

Douglas Houghton: Maybe another production error. This is what is displayed in the menu:

I am in the process of listing Season 2 of TTWZ from Koch Media.
