The Unbearable Lightness of Being UK DVD single-disc CLOSED

Postby Eric_Cotenas » 21 Nov 2018 05:29

Does anyone have specs for the orignal Warner single-disc edition of THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING released before the 2-disc edition? The back cover scan says "Soundtrack Remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1" on the special features box while the information box below it says "2.0 Dolby Surround." The MGM single-disc in the United States had a 5.1 track but the Criterion and Warner 2-discs were Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround.

Also, does anyone know if the UK Warner Archive edition is: 1) a pressed or burned disc (if the latter, then single or dual-layer), 2) one or two discs, 3) the same as the earlier Warner single-disc or the later 2-disc?

I thought the 2 disc was the first released in the UK. Where is this earlier single disc one?

Appears as if Warner Archive used the same UPC number as their earlier disc so it might be the same edition.

The first UK version was a single disc release, barcode 7321900362269, example: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THE-UNBEARAB ... 2811226247 Judging by the ebay listings, it was released in 2003. This version doesn't seem to be on Amazon any more, only the 2-disc version (which I think is from 2006) and the Warner Archive version. I only have the 2-disc version so can't help with Eric's question, unfortunately.
