Listening to commentaries

Postby Samuel_Scott » 15 Jun 2013 11:25

So, I'm listening to commentaries from tv show Portlandia between movies, but when you listen to a commentary do you focus on the screen, or like me, do something else. When I'm adding comparisons, I'm generally listening to commentaries and look at the screen when relevant.
I work away a lot but I will reply to all PM's within a few days so please have patience!

With some exceptions (eg, the edited commentaries that Criterion used to specialise in), I tend to listen to commentaries whilst doing something else, Sam.

I've spent the past four weeks marking endless piles of essays. (It's that time of the year for me, sadly :D .) During that time, I've managed to work my way through no end of commentaries that I've been saving up for just this occasion.

I think I've only listened to 6 commentaries in 12 years. (According to my database, I have 2592 DVDs/BDs with one or more commentaries, and I have 2586 still to listen to. It will never happen.)
