Upload Season 1 (Amazon Prime) - funny and occasionally dark comedy from the creators of The Office and Parks & Recreation, light entertainment 7/10.

McCabe & Mrs. Miller - Robert Altman's Pacific Northwestern tale of a hustler and a city woman who open a whorehouse in a dismal mining town. Occasionally downbeat, filled with flawed characters, and a third act filled with silent tension. 9/10.

Michael Bolton: There was nothing wrong with it... until I was about 12 years old and that no-talent ass clown became famous and started winning Grammys. (Office Space)

Rushmore - My girlfriend had not seen it before, so it was a good excuse to crack the Criterion blu-ray and give it a watch, always great, one of my favorite Wes Anderson films and she enjoyed it too, 9/10.

The Thin Blue Line - The Criterion Collection blu-ray, a landmark documentary in the genre, excellent, well crafted exposé into the wrongful conviction of a drifter and the killing of a police officer, 10/10.

Stuber - Streamed this film yesterday, I avoided it in theatres originally because the reviews where rather tepid, but stupid plot aside, the film was really funny. Dave Batista isn't the best actor around but this film plays to his strengths and Kumail Nanjiani is perfect in this role. It's not great but decent enough to pass the time and have a few laughs, 6.5/10.

Bull Durham - The Criterion Collection blu-ray, Ron Shelton's love letter to minor league baseball, arguably one of the best best sports movies of all time that features terrific performances from Kevin Costner, Tim Robbins, and Susan Sarandon, 9/10.

Smithereens - The Criterion Collection blu-ray, the first American film to be nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes, this fiercely independent film follows a narcissistic runaway and her toxic relationships among NYC's punk crowd. Not for everyone, the story does meander a bit and the characters aren't always that interesting to follow, the third act amps things up as she forms a pact with another punk to move to L.A. and get money for the trip by robbing, the ending is sad. 5.5/10.

David Lynch: The Art Life - Criterion Collection blu-ray, this is an intimate look into the mind of David Lynch, the most unique filmmaker and extremely private artist working today discusses his early life, his exploration of art, as we take a peek into his studio. It's fascinating but I would love to have it last longer and delve more into his films too, 7/10.

Downhill Racer - The Criterion Collection blu-ray, Robert Redford and Gene Hackman deliver very naturalistic performances in a film about a young narcissists skier attempting Olympic Gold. Shot in a documentary style and set in wintery European locations set amid the competitive nature of downhill racing, an underrated Redford film. 8/10.

Don't Look Now - The Criterion Collection blu-ray, Nicolas Roeg's supernatural horror masterpiece, incredible performances, incredible brooding tension, incredible ending. A classic film which still holds up today, 10/10.
