Hard Target (UK Blu)
Hadn't watched this for a long time... well, not terrible but disappointing John Woo movie - 5/10.

Hard Target (UK Blu)

Yeah, I finally managed to watch it, too. A great improvement over all DVDs which always sucked ass (non-anamorph, no DTS, a lot of dirt and so on).

Hannah Arendt (2012) - Interesting film based around a certain part of Hannah Arendt's life when she wrote a controversial journalistic piece about the banality of evil. Really well acted, and my only real issue was a slight lack of character depth for the supporting cast. 8/10

Last Passenger (TV)
British version of "Unstoppable" - average at the most 5/10

Borgia: Season 2
Finally got over with my second viewing of this season. Still good, but real far from the "astonishing" first season - 7/10.

Watched on Netflix - "Dealin' with Idiots" decent comedy by Jeff Garlin about parents who take their kids to little league baseball.

Re-watched "Oblivion" on Blu-ray - still an awesome film.
Samir: You know there's nothing wrong with that name.
Michael Bolton: There was nothing wrong with it... until I was about 12 years old and that no-talent ass clown became famous and started winning Grammys. (Office Space)

Things to Do Before You're 30 (2005) - British coming-of-age comedy with an early role from Billie Piper. Dougray Scott and Emila Fox are the best of the cast here. 6/10

Iguana (1988) - Far from Monte Hellman's best, but something a little different. 6/10

El Espinazo del Diablo (US Blu)
One my favorites "ghost-Spanish" movie, poetic, dark, and anchored in tragic events - 8/10

The House on Sorority Row (1983) - 50th film viewed this year. Underrated slasher IMO with good tension and a fun little story. 7/10

The Last Time (2006) - Not a huge fan of Michael Keaton or Brendan Fraser, but both were great here, and I dug the ending. 7/10

Easy Rider (criterion blu-ray, part of the America Lost and Found box set) - great film that marked the start of a new independent filmmaking wave in America. The supplements on the disc are terrific too.

Just a 'background noise' rewatch of Ted (2012) today. 7/10

Ted is awesome, so funny and well-written. It's extremely gross, but that's what makes it so special, 10/10.

Not pointless, but something is missing to make it a really good movie: this should have been moving, but emotion was lacking IMO (but maybe it's me!)

Kaze Tachinu (Theater)
Anoher beautiful (and moving!) movie by Miyazaki. Being centered about aviation, it can remind Porco Rosso, but is rather different, more anchored in real events. Not my favorite movie of the director, but this is the kind of animation I love - 8/10.

A L'aveugle (French TV)
Barely average french thriller, not really worth mentioning - 5/10

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is a perfect example of a great, but completely emotionless movie.
It's cold and distant as a movie can possibly be. Reminds me The Good Shepherd (very much the same style).

Alan Partridge : Papa Alpha
Unlike The Inbetweeners movie this did not transfer to the big screen too well due to it being too drawn out for my liking. I Iove Partridge on tv and the fact that I come from Norfolk I enjoyed seeing Norwich and Cromer in a film.

Now You See Me (2013) - I know this one didn't go down well with critics and most people guessed the ending, but I really enjoyed it, and was caught out by the twist. 9/10

Blackfish (2013) - Eye-opening documentary about the killer whales at SeaWorld. 9/10

Free Money (1998) - Great ensemble cast, but poor performances (especially Marlon Brando) and a poor film. 4/10
