Note sure how much of this is useful/will be posted but....

Based on the SF novel Donovan's Brain directed by Freddie Francis and made in the UK in 1962 in both German and English versions (like The Devil's Daffodil and Traitor's Gate which were made by the same companies). I have the VHS of the English version and the German version on DVD is an alternate edit:

* In the English version Miles Malleson plays a doctor but Malleson's two scenes have been reshot with a German actor taking his place in the German version
* The German version contains a unique 4m sequence set by a lake which exists because the killer is a different person in the German version and this sets up that person's motive
* The climatic unmasking-of-the-killer scene in an office has been reshot with this person present - as that person is the killer in this version - rather than another secondary character.
* The German version restores about 15s of (very) minor cuts to several scenes made to the English version for an 'A' rating by the BBFC
* To maintain a similar running time to the English version, the German version trims a number of scenes and also deletes the last scene of the film in the English version in the back of a car between Peter van Eyck and a secondary person since that refers to the killer in the English version.
