Law Abiding Citizen (2009)

Postby Brent_Reid » 23 Oct 2014 07:30

I'm after the US 2 disc BD, as shown on the film's comparison page, but can't find any reference to it on either Amazon US or UK:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_n_f ... 2650303011

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_nr_p_n ... =383379011

The listings all only refer to the 1 disc edition; is the 2 disc-er lurking there but mislabelled? If that's the case can someone provide me with a direct link to the correct listing, preferably on Amazon UK?

The two-disc versions seem to have been discontinued in favour of separate releases, I can't even find the Australian version on any websites in this region  You might have to scope out Ebay to get hold of the old version. Although honestly you're not missing anything if you just get the Director's Cut, which also contains all the extras on the set, and is a much better version than the theatrical cut.

This site has it listed as being the 2-disc region A version, the pic on the listing is wrong but you could always email to make sure it's the right one. It's a Hong Kong based company but they're as reliable as anything and much better priced that Amazon.

Thanks Alister, as you suggested I'll just get the UK BD. Although I always try and get the best available release, I won't pay silly money, especially when I can get the UK disc elsewhere for less than £1.

Strange how the US 2 disc edition has disappeared altogether though; even when deleted there are usually v expensive copies listed of any title...

It would probably be easy enough to get the 2-disc if you shopped around, a lot of secondhand copies are probably listed without mentioning that they're 2-disc. But yeah, the only thing you'll miss is a less brutal version of the film and a producer's commentary, and we all know what those are like (ie a highly effective cure for insomnia)

Often companies use the same UPC/EAN so shops just update their existing entries to new details.

Best bet is to e-mail a couple of sellers.
I work away a lot but I will reply to all PM's within a few days so please have patience!

Finally got around to watching this; it's a lovely bit of Death Wish-style popcorn and gave the home cinema a good workout! In the end I picked up the UK BD for 19p + 1.26 postage - bargain! :D

I paid 25p for it as my local Air Amulance shop sells 4 dvds/blu-rays for a £1.00 inc boxsets. :)
