3 ex-rental Blu-rays for £10 @ Blockbuster Online - http://market.blockbuster.co.uk/discoun ... lu-ray.htm

I've bought in these sales before and everything has been spot on. Watch out though, as UK rentals often lop off extras!

American Pie

Postby Paul Moran » 26 Sep 2012 22:21

Okay, I will admit to owning a 4-film American Pie DVD set, but this is one blu-ray upgrade I can live without!

For the action fans, the Steven Seagal collection (Under Siege 1 & 2, Executive Decision, Hard to Kill, Nico: Above the Law) on Blu-ray is only £15 from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Steven-Seagal-C ... 836&sr=8-2 And, as far as I can tell so far, all of the films are uncut (aside from the amendments made to Executive Decision) - big news for Under Siege &, especially, Under Siege 2!

That *is* a good price.

The recent Hammer StudioCanal BDs (The Mummy's Shroud, The Devil Rides Out and Rasputin: The Mad Monk) are £11-45 at Zavvi currently - not really a 'bargain', but much cheaper than elsewhere nonetheless.

I believe the Arrow steelbook BD release of Abel Ferrara's The King of New York is £10-99 at Play.com too.

The recent BD releases of Lockout and Cabin in the Woods are £10 each on Amazon (UK).

Sainsbury's have quite a few BFI Blus for £6-99 or £8-99. Off the top of my head, MORE and JOUR DE FETE are £6-99, SHADOWS, A WOMAN UNDER THE INFLUENCE, FACES, ZED AND TWO NOUGHTS, BELLY OF AN ARCHITECT, REVOLUTION and MAITRESSE are £8-99. There are probably more as well.

Nice spot, Paul. Unfortunately for me, I topped up on BFI Flipsides and Tatis a few weeks ago, when base.com had them for £7.89, promptly undercut by zoverstocks at £7.19. (And I think they are now £8.25 at amazon.co.uk.) However, I've been waiting for a <£9 offer on Maitresse, so I'll get one if it is still £8.99 when back in stock.

I've been waiting for MAITRESSE to drop in price too, Paul, and received my copy earlier today. It's a very nice disc, much better than the BFI's old DVD :) I'm still sitting on the fence about ZED AND TWO NOUGHTS, which I haven't seen for a long time and I'm not hugely bothered about owning (it's not a Greenaway film I enjoy very much) but would love to see the extra features, particularly 'The Sea in Their Blood'.

Maitresse is now back in stock at £8.99, so I've ordered one. :)

A Zed & Two Noughts isn't my favourite Greenaway either, but I've owned the original BFI DVD since February 2004, and all this discussion prompted me to check out the Beaver comparison. Oh dear: "The first thing to note is that this Blu-ray blows all previous editions out of the water in every respect...." That, plus a 100% rated ebay seller offering it new & sealed for £7.42 delivered, was enough to persuade me to upgrade. (Paid £12.99 for the DVD. :() What I'd really like to see is a blu-ray release of The Draughtsman's Contract. EDIT 20/4/13: **** me! Now only £6.68 - but only 1 left.

If you don't mind ex-rentals then Blockbuster have a 4 for £10 on blu-rays right now:

I've never had anything but mint condition items from them in the past.
