Light Blast - Uncut Limited Edition Hardbox (Xcess Entertainment)
Image
It's the Medusa Home Video VHS cover! Cool!

Image
Number 60 limited to 333 copies.

These hard boxes are getting rarer. Xcess is one of the few distributors manufacturing them.

For now this L.E. DVD will do. Hopefully, Hour of the Assassin is next...

Lionheart: Limited Edition Small Hardbox ('84 Entertainment)
Image

Limited to 250 copies only. Mine is number 031.

You could have Lionheart on German BD in virtually all kinds of packaging you could wish for :o : 4-disc 3D futurepak, 3-disc Limited Edition mediabook, 3-disc Platinum Cult Edition standard case, 2-disc Complete Collection standard case, single-disc metalpak, single-disc Limited Edition mediabook, single-disc Classic Cult Collection standard case, single-disc big hardbox and this single-disc small hardbox. This title must have been a big hit there!

The only packaging this hasn't been released in is a steelbook.

The Savage Five: 2-disc L.E. Mediabook (TVP)

A gang of horse-riding bandits with their loot arrives in a small peaceful town, looking for a smith who can crack a safe they robbed from a bank in another town. Knowing that the town consists mostly of pacifists, they begin terrorizing the townsfolk and rape the women. When the bandits savagery threatens their existence, five ordinary young men of the town – a former rich man’s son, a petty thief, an honest smith, a sickly traveling kung fu acrobat and a poor self-reliant woodcutter – decide to rise and retaliate... at all costs.

Limited to 1000 copies

This 1974 kung fu thriller is one of Chang Cheh’s best works which showcases his trademark themes: honor, heroism, and bloodshed. One of my favorite Shaw Brothers movies.

Who watches the Watchmen?

Image
One of my favorite box sets. The comic book that comes with it is still sealed. Might never open it

Image
I like this better than Watchmen: The Art of the Film, which has more photos and less texts.

Image
I got this at a generous discount from one retail shop that's closing down in 2016 and it was the only version left.
Love the glow-in-the-dark material of this case than the not-so-special Rorschach Case.

Image
The artwork is identical to the UK Paramount Centenary Edition, but this Italian release contains only the theatrical cut.

Others I don't show include: the German L.E. steelbook, the US Triple Feature BD with V for Vendetta and Constantine,
the US Ultimate Cut DVD box set, the US 2-disc Director's Cut DVD, and the theatrical cut DVD.

I AM THE LAW!
I rarely purchase soundtrack CD, but this is an exception.

Image
Limited 2-disc Intrada Special Collection.

Image
CD 1 - the soundtrack (68.22). CD 2 - the extras (71:00)

I remember seeing Judge Dredd in a DTS-equipped cinema in 1995. Sitting in the lower right row near the wall quite close to the screen, I could hear the front speakers rumbling! What a masterful score with an extraordinarily strong, heroic major-key main theme!

Another superb composition by Alan Silvestri. 9 out of 10!

I saw some of Walter Hill's films on the big screen: The Warriors, Southern Comfort, Extreme Prejudice, Johnny Handsome, Another 48 Hours and Trespass, one of his works I like.

Poliziotteschi / Eurocrime collection
Recommended titles of the subgenre that should get a decent English dub or sub DVD or BD release. Sad to say, UK and US distributors show little love for poliziotteschi movies

ImageImageImage
Silent Action (1975), Cross Shot (1976), Deadly Chase a.k.a. Play Cop (1978)

ImageImageImage
Colt 38 Special Squad (1976), Violent Naples (1976), The Last Round (1976)

ImageImageImage
Highway Racer (1977), Fear in the City a.k.a. Hot Stuff (1978), From Corleone to Brooklyn (1979)

Wish list:
Image
The Professor a.k.a. Il Camorrista (1986)

ImageImageImageImage
Special Cop in Action a.k.a. Italia a Mano Armata (1976)
Violent City a.k.a. Roma Violenta (1975)
Violent Naples a.k.a. Napoli Violenta (1976)
Weapons of Death a.k.a. Napoli Spara! (1977)
Here's hoping for a better BD version of Special Cop in Action and Weapons of Death.
