Star Trek Into Darkness Best Buy

Postby Michael_Fuhrer » 26 Mar 2014 20:45

Hi,
I have a question about the Star Trek Into Darkness-Set by BestBuy.
I understand this right, that in Canada this was an 3-Disc-Set, and in USA a 2-Disc-Set with the content of the 3rd Canadian-Disc available ONLY as download.

Thank you for answers.

It annoys me so much when distributors do this and split up the extras across several different retailers and various playback formats. Besides the Best Buy and Target exclusives, the extensive ~160 min video commentary track is an iTunes exclusive, in addition for also exclusively featuring the IMAX version of the film together with the commentary, not watchable individually. Then the deleted scenes are only accessible through an Xbox second-screen app, ... What good did Paramount (or Abrams' production company Bad Robot) think this would do, especially for the fans?
Work occasionally keeps me off the grid but I'll be around sooner or later.

I guess they want to serve these big retail chains.
