Question about the music. The runtime of the film is 150 minutes so it must be the 2010 restoration, but the Rundfunksinfonieorchester Saarbrücken score was recorded for the 2001 restoration, so does this mean that the newly discovered footage of about 30 minutes is completely silent?

No, the newly-discovered footage is scored.

Full text on the back is "Fritz Lang's original 150-minute director's cut of Metropolis accompanied by a new recording of Gottfried Huppertz's original 1927 score by the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin".

Given that "rundfunk" translates to "radio", it seems the 2001 and 2010 recordings are from the same orchestra, and the name was just translated in one case but not the other?

This release dates from 2011, so I would be astonished if it's anything other than the 2010 recording.

I've got a copy of the MoC version headed my way, I'll compare the scores when I get it.

The MoC 90th Anniversary edition has three discs, not two. It also comes with a DVD featuring the 2001 restoration.

Aspect Ratio: 1.33:1
Anamorphic?: No
PAL or NTSC?: PAL
Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo
English Dolby Digital 5.1
Subtitles (are they optional?): Optional English subtitles for German intertitles, optional English subtitles for German audio commentary
Cuts: 118:27
Commentaries: English commentary by Enno Patalas
German commentary by Enno Patalas

Can also confirm the Madman and MoC have the same score.

Recheck it for what? EDIT: Oh, language. Right. Yeah, it's a no-language score, I'm an idiot, carry on.

It's region 2.

Just to confirm: not only is the 2010 score a re-recording, it was completely overhauled since the first version, so is often very different.
