Just watched The Three Musketeers. Say what you like about Paul W.S. Anderson, but the man knows how to make a movie in 3D. Breathtaking.

Heard that Joe Dante's The Hole is going OOP and is already £25 for a used copy on Amazon...

Managed to sneak on to Cex website and order one of their last two used copies for £5.

Just watched Hugo. Excellent 3D (and film) with some nice pop outs that weren't gimmicky and really nice depth throughout, especially looking down vertical drops from the clock.

Just finished Narnia in 3D. Not bad. No pop-outs but reasonable depth. There are certainly better 3D experiences out there. I'll give the 3D a 3/5 on this one.

Just finished up The Flying Swords of Dragon Gate starring Jet Li. The 3D here was excellent with lots of depth and gimmicky pop outs that worked well despite some poor CGI. 3D = 4.5/5

Just watched Monsters University which looked fantastic. Reference quality picture and sound, and very strong 3D.

Also, the short film included on the disc, The Blue Umbrella which had average 3D.

Tonight watched Underworld: Awakening in 3D. Not bad, some good depth, but some scenes were rather flat. Darker films always find it harder to utilise the 3D IMO, so it wasn't a surprising result. The 3D here is 3/5 IMO.

Arachnoquake - Watched the German conversion of this today. Adds some minor depth, but is a typical cheap conversion from Great Movies that outside of logos doesn't really do anything the 3D function on my TV won't do. Sometimes perception of depth felt incorrect and there was also a problem with the picture during a scene transition early on that isn't on the UK 2D release. 3D = A generous 3/10.

Finally got around to Avatar (saw it at the cinema too). Cracking 3D, and spectacular A/V. Unfortunately, no extras on the disc I have, as it was one of those freebies you get when you buy a 3D Projector. Can't wait for the next in the series! 3D = 5/5 on this one for me.

Jillian's Travels: Africa - The one hour film itself wasn't very good, but the 3D was very enjoyable to watch with some great depth. The extra feature about elephants in 3D was better than the main feature though. Film: 3/10, 3D: 7/10

Rise of the Guardians - The film was very good, but certainly not DreamWorks' best. The 3D was excellent though. Film: 7/10. 3D: 9/10

Saw: The Final Chapter - Went into it with very low hopes as heard nothing but bad things, but I thought it was a satisfying end to the series (at least for now). 3D was good, but not great. Film: A generous 3/5. 3D: 3.5/5

Spy Kids: All the Time in the World - Not the worst film in the series (that accolade belongs to the 3), but still not very good really. The 3D is certainly better than the film deserves, with reasonable depth and a couple of good gimmicky pop outs. Film: 4/10. 3D: 7/10.

Just watched the far too short IMAX 3D film The Ultimate Wave: Tahiti which was simply stunning. Out of the many 3D releases I have, I can't believe this is the first IMAX one. May have to pick another one up in the coming weeks. Film: 7/10, 3D: 9/10.

Just watched Jurassic Park in 3D and was quite impressed. Some strong 3D but on rare occasion I do think it emphasised distances a little too much and it felt depth wasn't quite right in a couple of shots. Still, it is a pretty good conversion, even if not to the standards of Titanic. A solid 8/10 for the 3D IMO.

Watched The Drakest Hour yesterday. Had some good depth, but the popouts weren't as good or as frequent than they perhaps should have been for the genre. Film = 5/10, 3D = 6.5/10

The Hole - Joe Dante's horror aimed at a younger audience is surprisingly dark. The 3D was solid throughout, with some good little pop outs and a really nice sense of depth. 3D = 8/10 Film = 7/10.

Godzilla - This was a 3D conversion, and it's fairly middle of the road. Depth should've been better IMO. 3/5 for the 3D, 3.5/5 for the film.

Legends of Flight - Not the best documentary made for IMAX and a little basic, but the 3D was superb and helped by the basic animation. Doc = 3/5 3D = 4.5/5
