Spain DVD ASIN: B0053C87AU

The MGM DVD listing is sub-headed "Premiere Collection" but that only applies to the 8-disc box set. The standalone DVD doesn't have that wording anywhere. It's also in the 3-DVD MGM 90th Anniversary Collection with Rebecca and Notorious (B00IOFMZYM).

The Premiere Collection's eight films should have a warning about its faulty discs, explained here: https://www.brentonfilm.com/alfred-hitc ... collection

The Criterion DVD has a 1999 restoration.

All MGM and Carlotta discs have a 2008 remaster of the 1999 restoration.

The supervisor of the 1999 restoration added what he thought was "overture and exit music" but most releases correctly omit it. Various footnotes need amending; those that don't have it shouldn't say anything and those that do should say: "Mistakenly includes misidentified overture and exit music."

Some transfers have different examples of dropped frames and dialogue but they may be too detailed to repeat here, although they are in my article.

Add bootleg and copyright footnotes.

Moved to "Correction" since this is already in the database.

Since this is a Blu-ray, it should be listed as "ALL"

Updated with the note about the misidentified music.

This is now corrected.

Stills of the single disc on Amazon and on your site seem to have the Premiere Collection banner at the top.

Also made some updates to the Criterion extras.

Cheers James. Dunno how I managed to overlook the existing MGM DVD entry but figured I then compounded my error by checking the BD's non-"Premiere Collection" packaging!

Said Premiere Collection note is quite equivocal; it would be clearer to say:
"Note the collection's book-style packaging was shrink-wrapped too tightly, warping the discs and making many of them unplayable. Avoid all copies and get the problem-free, individual keep-cased reissues instead."

You didn't specify which discs have the 1999 restoration.

Could you please explain the difference between DVD region 0 and BD region ALL and exactly why they aren't interchangeable? I'd really like to know!

I think the wording is fine as it is. Some might actually want the book packaging itself.

Updated the listings.

We use numbers for DVD (and HD DVD) and letters for Blu-ray and UHD so it is easier to identify at first glance. When you listed "0" at the top, I immediately opened the DVD page for updating but then finding your listing had Blu-ray info instead. So we and other places use "region ALL" or "region ABC" for region free Blu-rays.

Ah, so it's a formatting rather than technical reason! In that case, why not simply amend the templates to DVD "Region: 0/1/2/3/4/5/6" and BD "Region: ALL/A/B/C"?

It is technical as well since Blu-ray doesn’t use numbers for regions. No need to update the template as it should be an obvious note.
