OVERALL: Blu-ray A
The US release for having the alternate William Walton soundtrack option and the optional mono track. None of the other releases have it despite the track being widely available on the old 2-disc DVD editions worldwide and all DVDs and BDs being from the same company worldwide.
Note the French and German releases have proper English subtitles for the non-English dialogue, compared with other releases that additionally captions text already in English on screen.
NOTE:
The original score was by William Walton, but because he only composed approximately twenty minutes of music (and soundtrack LPs required approximately 30-45 minutes) only a short snatch was used in the film, in the decisive final battle after which the Germans gave up. The studio commissioned Ron Goodwin to compose a longer score so they could exploit it more on the OST LP.
