Notes:5-Disc Boxed Set. There are subtitles in English, French and Spanish on all of the extra features excluding the trailers.
Each disc are held in their own clear little slim cases. The box that houses all the discs is embossed, with the contours of Jason’s mask jutting out of the box.
All the original Friday the 13th DVDs were all single layer discs, so what Paramount has done for the box set is group two of those single layer transfers on each dual layered, single sided disc. Reviews indicate slightly better picture quality on part one and four.
The inside of the bonus disc's cover promises a featurette that isn't present: "Scary Trailers: Visual effects producer Dan Corey, veteran voice-over talent Don LaFontaine and others discuss the making of the Friday the 13th movie trailers."
Also, "Best Buy US" has an exclusive special 29-minute bonus disc, "Jason Forever", which contains a lively "Jason" panel discussion from a Fangoria convention. It also delivers interviews with cast and crew, including 4 actors who have played Jason over the years. -

OVERALL: Draw
Between the Deluxe / Special Editions for 5.1 sound and a good selection of extras. Note that the R1 DE has Part 2 of the "Lost Tales From Camp Blood" featurette, whilst the R2 French DE / R2/R4 SEs has part 1.
Do note that the R1 Box set does have different extras that cover this film on the bonus disc.
Notes:
All versions are of the R-rated US theatrical cut. The following scenes were cut from the film in order to avoid an "X" rating from the MPAA:
(1.) A close-up shot of Jeff and Sandra being double-impaled while having sex on the bed.
(2.) A close up shot of Crazy Ralph and the wire cutting.
(3.) A scene at the very end where we are shown the inside Jason's shack and see Pamela's face. While there, her eyes open. It was cut by Paramount for looking too fake.
(4.) A facing shot of Mark's face being split by the machete.
(5.) Blood was trimmed from the shot of Jason driving the hammer in the cop's head.
(6.) The flashback footage showing Mrs. Voorhees decapitation was trimmed.
(7.) Blood flow was cut from the shot of Jason driving an icepick into Alice's head.
(8.) Additional blood flow was cut from the shot of Jason slicing Scott's throat.
(9.) Originally, the sex scene between Sandra and Jeff was longer and it included full frontal nudity from actress Marta Kober but when Paramount studio discovered that she was underage the scene was deleted completely.
