OVERALL: Draw
Between the R1 30th Anniversary, R2 Japan and the new R2/R4 trilogy box sets. The R1 releases has one additional commentary on each disc, but no DTS tracks as found on R2/R4 and R2 Japan. On R2/R4 and R2 Japan we also have the interviews "Q&A with Director Robert Zemeckis and Producer Bob Gale" on the bonus disc instead of commentaries as found on the R1. The original R1 Complete Trilogy release also have DVD-ROM contents and a few more text based extras not on R2/R4 and R2 Japan.
Note also that the Japanese R2 box set comes in a special limited premium package. Disc 1 in this set comes with "Welcome to Universal Japan Theme Park" short extra not found on any other release.
