Versions/Cuts:
Originally submitted to the BBFC in 1939 with a runtime of 104 mins 24fps (100 mins 25fps), and was cut — no details and no updates.
However, the versions available on DVD in the UK are the shorter US version with additional opening and closing narration by Lionel Barrymore, and a "happy" ending. See the Wikipedia entry for a more detailed discussion of the differences between the UK and US versions.
Other Releases:
Previously released in the UK by 2 Entertain Video (US version).
The DVD-R release in the US by Synergy Entertainment is apparently the longer UK version (110 mins claimed...) but is reportedly transferred from a very poor source.
