OVERALL: Draw
The US release has a commentary, the UK has an exclusive video essay, an the German release has 5.1 audio but no extras.
GENERAL NOTES:
The film was simultaneously photographed with two cameras to create an "A negative" for the American market and a "B negative" for Europe, both of which differ in terms of composition and content.
Both negatives are now lost. The German version comes from a 1930 German print held by the Museum of Modern Art - the German intertitles were replaced with English ones (the German ones were reinserted for the Murnau-Stiftung restoration) - while the US version comes from a print held by the Bundesarchiv. -
CUTS:
- Blu-ray A America- Kino Lorber - No cuts - Includes the German version (106:39) and English version (86:26).
